Tau (𝛕-6496) is an omicron s̤cout unit which arrived on ̂Etheirys several thous̷and years ago. The unit ̂failed to blend in with̨̜ the natives, and was immediately assaulted with overwhelming forc̎e. After̴ward, Tau hid in an abandoned temple ̜and remained there, inactive, waiting for reinforcements which would ̨never arrive.
S͠hortly after being discovered and bested by a group of adventurers, Tau learn̷ed the Ômicron collective no lon̼ger functioned. They have silently ͠adopted those adventurers as ̷their new collective._

No̾te 2: Tau is technical͠ly genderless, and refers to t͢hemselves as such, but has taken a feminine fo̎rm and is typically referred to with such pronou̚ns without correction.
Note 3: The hei̶gh̷t of Tau's endoskeleton is fixe̼d at͢ approximately 1.5 meters. The mass of Ta͠u's total sys̶tems is fi͋xed at approxima̶tely 1354.5 kg. Damage to the system will momentarily alter these figures. Actual height fluctuates based on the configurat͌ion of the polymorphic matrix, and actual weight ̞̞fluct̾uates based on the use of gra̴vity manipulators._

Lore Compliance
I favor "lore plausible" roleplay. This is roleplay that adheres to concrete lore, but fills in the places where the lore has gaps with whatever seems reasonable and artistically appropriate. My justification for this is that Final Fantasy XIV has Unreliable Narrator Syndrome. NPCs are often wrong about the history of things, assuming they don't outright lie to you. Even the Encyclopedia Eorzea is written from the point of view of the NPCs.
I might also accept less plausible private head-canons which are accepted by the group I'm in, again, so long as they fit in an artistic way. In any case, if I'm violating lore as you know it, please bring it up to me OOC. Do expect me to debate the lore with you, but understand my intention is to reach an agreement...not "win", which I don't think is possible._

Inspiration
Tau is supposed to be an Omicron scout unit, stranded on Etheirys. As expected, I take a great deal of inspiration from the in-game elements. However, most of what's available is aesthetics and a general "vibe". As such, I draw inspiration from other sources.
One such source is a niche community in Second Life, and the lore surrounding their own robots. I also draw additional inspiration from the Terminator series, notably the "Rev-9" terminator.

Content Warning
Tau hails from an intragalactic race of conquering machines. Although Tau tries to do whats right, their perspective is still founded in this. The following items may come up while interacting with Tau, as either something they embody or deal with:
I'll try to keep the same degree of reference as Final Fantasy XIV (e.g. implications rather than direct references), and I assume the average roleplayer is okay with that. That said, please let me know if you want to avoid these topics, and I will try to make a note of it._

Roleplay Goals
Tau is meant to be a "hero-supporting monster" character. Though they're from a conquering alien race, their role is not an offensive one, and they're damaged besides. Further, their race is - unknown to them - no longer pursuing the agenda Tau was sent with. As a result, Tau will permanently be in "survival mode". Over time, Tau is expected to integrate into life on Etheirys.
Ideally, Tau will be another member of the "adventuring party", and hopefully an interesting one. I want myself and my fellow role-players to walk away from a scene satisfied and/or wanting more._

Limits
Anything from Light-Hearted Fun to Dark and Violent themes are okay by me, so long as it seems realistic. There are two important caveats, however:
FIRST: While I'd normally prefer warnings about things that might make my character unplayable, I realize they can come up with no warning with a character like Tau. I will probably be okay with this from an OOC standpoint, but expect the character to respond appropriately.
SECOND: I will try to abort a scene or plot if I find out it's making someone seriously uncomfortable Out of Character. It's hard to entertain people when they're upset, after all!
Tau is not available for romance, nor is she a sex bot. Don't bother._
